When is the deadline to join?

You are eligible to join Tau Sigma until your graduation from UC Irvine; however, if you would like to be included in the Spring Induction Ceremony, you will need to submit your application by a date that is TBA. 

Do I need to maintain my 3.5 or higher GPA to remain a member?

The only GPA requirement is the initial 3.5 or higher in your first full quarter to be eligible. Once you join, you have a lifetime membership.

Do I need to participate in the events in order to be a member?

No. Once you turn in your application form and payment, you will be an official member; however, only our active members will be eligible for scholarships at the end of the year as well as a complementary t-shirt and honor cords. See Active Membership for more details.

We do not require participation, though we encourage members to engage in events in order to fully prosper in this transfer student community. 

How do I become an active member and what are the benefits?

To become an active member, you must participate in 2 community service per academic year and 2 chapter events (socials, general meetings, etc.) per quarter. Active members will receive FREE honor cords and recognition at the Spring Induction Ceremony. See Active Membership for more details. 

I am studying abroad this quarter, but really want to join. What can I do?

Students studying abroad are still able to join Tau Sigma by mailing in proper application forms. Email tausigma@uci.edu for more details. 

The days and times you will be collecting applications don’t work for me. Are there any other times available?
