Membership Requirements
All members of Tau Sigma Omicron Chapter must obtain a 3.5 or higher GPA during their first full quarter at the University of California, Irvine. A full quarter consists of 12 or more units taken for a letter grade. Classes taken Pass/No Pass and classes taken for workload units do not count towards this 12 unit minimum. All members must also transfer in with at least one year of transferable units. Transferable units consist of those accepted by the University of California, Irvine as equivalent coursework at another institution of higher learning.
Membership Requirements:
A) Obtain at least 3.5 GPA in the first full quarter (Fall)
B) Complete 12 graded units in the first full quarter (Fall)
You will need:
(1) your completed membership application
(2) payment of $65
(3) an unofficial transcript (which may be obtained free of charge from the Registrar)
We will accept cash, check, or money order. Please make checks payable to Tau Sigma National Honor Society, UC Irvine. If you are purchasing a t-shirt ($10) and/or honor cords ($25), please add that cost to your total. Read below for information on Active Membership and how to receive free honor cords.
Applications and payments will be accepted beginning Winter 2021. However, we are welcome to all non-member UCI transfer students to join our community and attend our social and professional development events. Active Membership Requirements
A) Attend at least 80 percent of the General Meetings per academic year
B) Participate in 1 Community Service event per quarter
C) Attend 1 Chapter Event (socials, fundraisers, etc.) per quarter
Active Membership will be awarded honor cords and a t-shirt at no cost. Inactive Members may purchase these items, if interested.
